14-year-old Shiane Hawke did not impress Austrailia’s X Factor judges when she walked out on stage. Or the people in the crowd. And they all did a good job of letting her know. Everything from the audience’s and judges’ snickers and smirks to their body language suggests they were just waiting on her to implode.
And then the music began. The only thing that would have made her performance better is if (and I really hope someone does this one day) she finished singing, said “I was too good for you before I sang, too,’ dropped the microphone and left the stage. Then maybe people would realize how big of jerks they’d been. Shiane, you’re amazing. SHARE her song if you agree!
According to 8 News Now in Las Vegas, Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie has brokered a tentative deal between the Bureau of Land Management and Bundy. Under the reported agreement, the BLM would “halt its roundup of Bundy’s cattle and withdraw its employees from the Gold Butte area.”
As for the cattle that have already been rounded up, the BLM would move forward with the sale of those cattle but would reportedly share the revenue with Bundy. That part of the agreement seems very strange considering that Bundy contends that the BLM is stealing his cattle. Why would he allow his “stolen” cattle to be sold and then accept a share of the proceeds?
The ranch, which has been in Cliven Bundy’s family for more than a century, is ground zero for a growing showdown between federal authorities and individual rights activists.
As a family in Clark County, Nev. continues to face an onslaught of heavily armed federal agents determined to kick them off of their ranch, reports have surfaced that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid might be behind the entire ordeal.
Despite attempting to silence protesters by limiting them to so-called “First Amendment areas,” law enforcement personnel, legislators, and militia members are heading to the site in droves to express their outrage over the Bureau of Land Management’s show of force.
The unthinkable is being done to female orangutans in Indonesia. They are being captured and used in brothels as prostitutes, where they are tied down and repeatedly raped on a daily basis.
Just when you think things couldn’t get much worse for the endangered orangutan, it does. 50,000 orangutans have already died in the last 2 decades as a result of deforestation- their natural habitat being replaced by palm oil plantations. They could be extinct by 2015.
They need protection- not exploitation brothels as prostitutes.
A close relative of sage, chia (Salvia hispanica) has long been a major food crop of indigenous peoples from modern-day Mexico up through the modern U.S. Southwest. On long-distance runs, some native peoples would consume nothing more than chia seeds mixed with water. If anything deserves the title of “superfood,” chia does.
Chia seeds are one of the highest known sources for omega-3 fatty acids, containing 7.5 times more of these essential oils per ounce than salmon.
